As a digital nomad, there are a few requirements. The obvious one is excellent wifi. If excellent wifi was the only goal for working remotely, you’d just stay home. I recommend 4 places in Jamaica that are excellent choices for digital nomads; the cocktails are great, the food is amazing, the beaches are gorgeous and the vibes are irie.
They are:
Kingston – Kingston is the capital of Jamaica so of course it has the best options for wifi and two to choose from. There is a nice food scene here and things to do. Institute of Jamaica and Jamaica Gallery, Bob Marley Museum and Trench Town Culture Yard. You can even go to Port Royal and see where the pirates once frolicked. Gloria’s is a nice seafood restaurant in Port Royal.
Ocho Rios – Dunns River Falls, White River Rafting, Blue Hole. There are few great places to eat around Ochi
Montego Bay – Pier One and the Boathouse are the two places I recommend in Montego Bay. If you are in for a spook, you can tour Rose Hall Great House.
Negril – Other than one of the best beaches in the world, 7 mile beach, Negril has some really cool chill restaurants. Push Cart and Rockhouse are my favorite, then Miss T’s, then the Italian Café. There are other cool spots you can eat around Negril and possibly get some work done between a good rum laced cocktail.
